Custom blinds Tucson AZ homes actually need.

Tucson is its own kind of housing market. Desert ranch homes with wide west facing windows, newer master-planned builds in Oro Valley and Marana with tall great-room glass, and hillside homes tucked into the Catalina Foothills with dramatic mountain views all bring different light and heat challenges. A stock blind rarely solves any of them well.

Matt Diaz lives and works right here in Southern Arizona. He measures every window in person, helps you choose materials that suit your home's sun exposure, and installs everything himself, usually in a single visit.

  • Free in-home consultations anywhere in greater Tucson, real samples brought to your door.
  • Locally owned by Matt Diaz, the person who quotes your windows also installs them.
  • Custom-measured for a precise fit, professionally installed, and warrantied.

Matt Diaz, owner of Love Is Blinds Arizona

Meet Matt.

Matt Diaz is the sole owner and operator of Love Is Blinds Arizona. There is no sales team and no subcontracted install crew. Matt handles every in-home consultation, every measurement, and every installation himself, from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.

That means the person who sits at your kitchen table with sample boards is the same person who shows up with a level and a drill on install day, and the same person you call if anything ever needs adjusting. Family, character, quality, and integrity are not just words on a page here, they are how Matt runs the business day to day.

Meet Matt Diaz

Built for Tucson's homes.

Southern Arizona homes come in a few common styles, and each one calls for a slightly different approach to light and heat control.

Desert ranch home window treatments in Tucson Classic Southwest

Desert ranch homes

Single-story ranch homes with long walls of west or south facing glass, common throughout central and midtown Tucson. Exterior solar screens and cellular shades take the edge off afternoon heat and glare.

Master planned community home window treatments near Tucson New Construction

Master planned community builds

Newer homes in communities around Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita, and Vail often feature tall great-room windows and multi-slide doors. Roller shades and motorized options handle the extra height and daily use.

Hillside home window treatments in the Catalina Foothills Hillside Views

Foothills style hillside homes

Homes set into the hillsides of areas like the Catalina Foothills are built to showcase mountain views, which also means large expanses of unshaded glass. Plantation shutters and layered shades give you control without blocking the view.

What we install in Tucson.

Every product is custom-measured for your windows and professionally installed by Matt Diaz.

Built for the Tucson sun.

Tucson afternoons often land between 100 and 110 degrees. That kind of heat puts real, ongoing pressure on air conditioning, especially in rooms with west or south facing glass.

Exterior solar screens mounted on the outside of those windows can meaningfully cut the cooling load in those rooms, since they stop solar heat before it reaches the glass at all. Cellular, or honeycomb, shades work from the inside, trapping a layer of air against the window that slows heat transfer year round. With about 350 sunny days a year here, UV exposure is a constant too. Solar screens block close to 99 percent of UV at the screen, which helps protect flooring, furniture, and artwork from fading.

Low-angle light brings its own challenge. When the sun sits lower on the horizon, it can send sharp glare straight across a room in the late afternoon. Light-filtering shades and shutters give you a way to soften that glare without closing off the room completely.

  • Exterior solar screens ease cooling load on hot, sun-exposed rooms.
  • UV protection that helps guard floors, fabric, and finishes from fading.
  • Glare control for both intense overhead sun and low-angle light.

Frequently asked questions.

Answers to what Tucson homeowners ask most. Have a different question? Call (844) 936-2446, you'll talk to Matt directly.

Who makes custom blinds in Tucson AZ that actually fit Southwestern homes?
Love Is Blinds Arizona does. Owner Matt Diaz measures every window himself, whether it is a saguaro-shaped arch, a big picture window facing the Catalinas, or an oversized slider in a newer build. Everything is custom-measured and custom-made, so odd shapes and large expanses of glass are not a problem.
What window treatments work best for Tucson's intense heat?
Cellular (honeycomb) shades and exterior solar screens are the two we recommend most. Honeycomb shades trap a pocket of air at the glass, which slows heat transfer into the room. Exterior solar screens go on the outside of west and south facing windows and stop a large share of that heat before it ever reaches the glass, which takes real pressure off your air conditioner.
Do you offer window treatments that block UV and fading?
Yes. Tucson sees roughly 350 sunny days a year, and UV exposure fades floors, furniture, and artwork fast. Exterior solar screens block close to 99 percent of UV at the screen itself, and interior options like roller shades and cellular shades cut glare and fading significantly indoors.
Is the in-home consultation really free?
Yes, completely free with no obligation. Matt comes to your home with real samples, measures every window you are considering, and leaves you a firm quote before he goes.
How long does it take from order to installed?
Most custom orders arrive in two to four weeks depending on the product. Installation is usually finished in a single visit, and Matt confirms your install date as soon as the order ships.
Can you help with low-angle sun and glare on my TV or screens?
Yes. When the sun sits lower in the sky it can create sharp glare through west and south facing glass. Layering a light-filtering shade with plantation shutters or a solar screen gives you control over that low angle without losing the view.
Do you serve neighborhoods outside the city of Tucson itself?
Yes. We cover the greater Tucson metro, including Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita, Green Valley, Vail, the Catalina Foothills, and outlying communities like Sierra Vista and Casa Grande. See the full list of areas we serve below.
What warranties do you offer?
Everything we install carries the manufacturer's warranty, and because Matt personally handles measurement and installation, warranty service is handled by someone you already know rather than a call center.
